I love dogs
Will has quickly acquired our family's love for dogs. And Scout has adopted Will as her first puppy, following his movements around the house. Her loyalty to him has persisted even after a hungry Will tried to "latch" onto her nose the other night.
Dad in training
Jason and Kim recently announced they were expecting in February. They came for a visit this last weekend and I passed on some of my newly learned dad skills to Jason. Here he is bottle feeding Will. I give him high marks for technique and execution.

My favorite picture
This has become my favorite picture. Knowing as I do all of the work and sacrifice and pain that my wife went through to bring our son into the world, and then to see the tenderness and love in her eyes as she looks at him for the first time, well it just does something to me.
Ahhhh.....home at last
The hospital gave us the option to leave a little earlier and have a nurse do a home visit the next day. So we jumped at the chance! The hospital is great when you need the constant care, but when you start to get better it can become an imposition and a burden.
We arrived home at 7 pm last night, right in the middle of a huge thunderstorm. We now know that Will is not afraid of thunder, which is more than we can say for our dog.
Ahhh...nothing like being at home for the new family reality to set in. We couldn't be happier. It was so nice to lay in bed together and pray over our new child. What a blessing!

The three of us
Will and Mom are getting some good rest and recuperation today. For those of you in Atlanta we may be able to have some visitors tomorrow, which will be Friday. Please call my cell if you want to come by. Here are some new pictures for all you Will fans out there.

Over and Out
This will be my last post for the time being. Jennifer needs my undivided attention right now. Next time you hear from me will be when I announce Will's arrival.

They just broke Jennifer's water. She is becoming increasingly uncomfortable. Your prayers are appreciated.
Pitocin, good to the last drop
They started the pitocin drip at around 7 this morning. The midwife is hopeful that Will will make his entrance to the world before 3 pm.

A new locale
Praise the Lord, they had a real labor and delivery room open up for us. We continue to see His hand in many small and not so small ways.

We are going to try to get a few hours of sleep now, and then they plan on starting the pitosin (sp?) around 6 am.
The wired generation

The busy season
Well we made it to the hospital without incident. No small feat in Atlanta traffic!
Apparently this is the middle of the busy season for the Women's Center at Northside, or at least that is what they are telling us. We were barely able to find a parking spot in the 6 story parking garage. One of the less than desireable consequences is that there was not a labor and delivery room available. So we are in a much smaller, less outfitted, and less comfortable room for right now. Hopefully a labor and delivery room will open up for us before labor begins.
Here is Jennifer going through the paper work required to have a baby. I thought when we bought our house we would never see that much paper work again.I was wrong!
